Pubs & Beer
Cotswold Beer Festival
CAMRA, the Campaign for Real Ale, is Europe's
most successful consumer association with over 180,000 members.
It fights to save Britain's pub heritage and campaigns for a wide
choice of tasty traditional beers and ciders.
The Gloucestershire branch covers the GL1 to GL17 postcode areas.
Postcode areas GL18-20 are now covered by the new Tewkesbury branch,
postcodes GL50 to GL53 are covered by Cheltenham branch
and postcodes GL54 to GL56 are covered by North Cotswold branch.
We plan to use this home page to show news items about pubs and beer in the Branch area, ahead of publication in the Tippler. So if you have any hot news items, please email them to our webmaster.
Village Pub Survival
Bob Jefferies, CAMRA member from Stroud, is actively campaigning for the survival of the village pub. To this end he is collecting stories of how village pubs have managed to survive and has set up a website which is well worth a visit. He has also published a book with some of the stories.
Richard Quinn was an avid home brewer and member of CAMRA in Cheltenham in the mid-to-late 70's, but sadly passed away in December 1978 at the age of only 26. His son Russell is keen to contact anyone who remembers him - if you do, please let our webmaster know, and he will forward your details to Russell.
This site is now hosted on the main CAMRA server. Please update your bookmarks to www.gloucestershire.camra.org.uk - just put a dot between 'gloucestershire' and 'camra'!
